In 1999, Welcome Home Ministries opened our first “Welcome Home House” in East Nashville with 9 beds to support our 24/7 transitional housing recovery support program. “Welcome Home House” is a safe and sober compassionate community for men who seek freedom and recovery from drugs, alcohol and a destructive way of life.
By 2009, WHM owned and operated three residential facilities to provide a safe and healthy community of compassionate care for a total of 24 men. In 2011, WHM expanded our housing capacity from 24 to 39 beds. Our growth has allowed us to increase our services for participants by 62.5% (3 transitional houses, including a house for Veterans, and 2 permanent supportive houses for recovery program graduates).
