Daryl Murray is a graduate of Trevecca Nazarene University (BS), Nashville, TN. Daryl is the founder of Welcome Home Ministries and has a personal calling and vision for the Ministry. His experience includes street ministry in New York City, Youth Pastor, Director of East Nashville Cooperative Ministry (largest food bank satellite for Second Harvest at the time), and Case Manager for “Right Turns” (a nonprofit organization that provides permanent housing for formerly homeless individuals). Daryl has over 30 years of experience in serving the poor, and other hurting and broken individuals.
Deputy Executive Director
Kyle Duvall is a graduate of Belmont University (BM), Nashville, TN, and a graduate of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (MCM) in Louisville, KY. He has more than 35 years of experience in ministry in numerous churches and faith-based organizations: Worship, pastoral care, staff development and ministry outreach. He has also served as an Organizational Development Consultant (ODC) for profit and nonprofit organizations for more than 25 years. He is well experienced in development, grant writing and fundraising campaigns. Kyle joined our staff in 2010.
Director, Peer Recovery Resources
Simon Smeddle is a graduate of the University of South Africa (BA) Health Sciences & Social Services. After years of battling addiction, he found freedom in surrendering to Jesus Christ and working a disciplined 12-steps program. Simon has 9 years of recovery and 3 years of counseling experience. Simon joined our staff in 2018.
Organizational Advancement Specialist
Andrew Case is a graduate of Eastern New Mexico University (BS), Portales, NM. He came to Nashville after experiencing God’s call to serve the poor in our community. After working for two partner organizations (City Service Missions and Room In The Inn), Andrew joined Welcome Home Ministries’ senior staff. He has experience working with the homeless community, housing initiatives for the poor, employment placement, fundraising, and journalism. Andrew joined our staff in 2020.
Peer Recovery Case Manager
Madeline Evans attended Columbia State Community College, Columbia, TN. She is a former EMT/Firefighter. During her struggle with addiction, she lost her career, family and home. She experienced eight years of homelessness in active addiction before finding hope, healing, and restoration in Jesus Christ. Madeline has six years of recovery and several years working with the homeless community in Nashville. Madeline joined our staff in 2021.
Peer Recovery Case Manager
Preston T. Bailey Jr. attended Tennessee State University in Nashville, TN, and later obtained an Associate Degree from Trenholm Technical College in Montgomery, AL. He received certification as a Level II Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) Facilitator from the Copeland Foundation, and certification as a Nationally Certified Intervention Professional from the Addictions Academy. Preston is also a certified instructor for Nonviolent Crisis Intervention, and is a member of the National Association of Peer Supporters. After serving WHM for more than 11 years, and departing WHM in 2018, Preston rejoined our staff in 2021.
Ashley Smeddle is a graduate of Belmont University (BS) Psychology, Nashville, TN. After college, she worked in international missions for a decade in Southeast Asia, Eastern Europe, and South Africa. It was in South Africa where she met her husband, Simon Smeddle, our Director, Peer Recovery Resources. Ashley joined our staff in 2019.
Glenda Murray is the wife of Welcome Home Ministries’ Founder/Executive Director. She is a graduate of Trevecca Nazarene University (BS), Nashville, TN, where she received an Accounting degree. Her previous work experiences were all in the accounting profession. Glenda has served Welcome Home Ministries since its beginning in 1992.
Alicia Woods is a graduate of Auburn University (BS), Auburn, AL, where she received a Computer Science degree. She has much experience in computer software support and testing. Alicia joined our staff in 2014.
