Mission Statement: “To enter worlds of brokenness in order that all might experience wholeness in Jesus Christ.”

Daryl R. Murray, WHM’s Founder and Executive Director, established Welcome Home Ministries in 1992. In 1999, WHM opened our first “Welcome Home House” in East Nashville with nine beds to support our 24/7 alcohol and drug recovery support ministry.

By 2009, WHM owned and operated three recovery residences to provide a safe, clean, healthy and affordable sober-living recovery community of compassionate care for a total of 24 men seeking recovery from alcohol and drug addictions.

By 2016, WHM owned and operated seven recovery residences to provide recovery housing for 57 men with substance use disorders and co-occurring disorders (five congregate living recovery residences, including a house exclusively for Veterans, and two permanent supportive “graduate housing” recovery residences for recovery program graduates).

It was 2019 when WHM purchased our eighth recovery residence with a total of 11 recovery beds:  Nine congregate living recovery beds and an independent apartment with two permanent supportive “graduate housing” recovery beds.

In 2021, Welcome Home Ministries will once again expand our recovery housing capacity with the purchase of our ninth recovery residence that will provide nine additional congregate living recovery beds.  Once the acquisition is complete, Welcome Home Ministries will have tripled our recovery housing capacity during the past decade from three to nine recovery residences, and from 24 to 77 recovery beds (220% growth).
